Generate More Leads by Geotargeting

Lead generation is an excellent traffic-driving option that can add value to your site. Quality traffic is essential to both your domain’s rank and presence online; it is without a doubt the biggest factor in your online business’s success.

Nevertheless, lead generation can be a daunting and time consuming process for the uninitiated.  This is a marketing measure that will frequently leave you frustrated when a minimal amount of legitimate leads are produced.  Constant network meet-ups and/or harassing existing clients for referrals can be aggravating, so where else can you turn?  Luckily for you, we’re about to reveal a highly unpublicized, yet effective approach that can produce quality leads.

Have you considered the value in geotargeted keyword searches?  Here now are three essential geotargeting tips that are sure to help improve your lead generation:

1.  Do Your Keyword Research

To take advantage of geotargeting, begin by conducting some market research. Start at the most basic level and use all of the data you have at your disposal to pave out the appropriate follow-up steps. Review successful campaigns you’ve had in the past, and most importantly, the locations that produced the greatest activity.  Once this research has been completed, you can move on to identifying the locations that were your best performers, and target them in a keyword search.

2.  Geotarget Your Research

Keyword phrases ultimately determine the quality of your traffic. Geotargeted keyword searches, specifically, allow you to target open-ended keywords  (e.g. “dentist,” “LASIK,” “lawyer,” “plastic surgery,” etc).   Geotargeted keywords are searched much more frequently than more focused or “niche” keyword phrases (e.g. “denver teeth whitening,” “injury lawyer Chicago,” Los Angeles LASIK,” etc).  However, the more focused the search phrases, the more qualified the lead. The key is to strike a balance between high quantity leads and high quality leads.

3.  Download A Geotargeted Search Add-on

By default, most online search results you receive in a targeted keyword search will look primarily at the IP.  In this way, the search is looking at where the IP is coming from, and then provides results based on that IP location.  However, if you’re looking to expand your search territory, a great option is to download a Geotargeting add0on.  Google Globe (for the Mozilla Firefox browser), for example, comes highly recommended.  Google Globe allows you, for instance, to select a specific country and then – based on that selection – provide you with the top results for the targeted keyword of your choice.
